Meet Patty.

Patty Cook is running for St. George Council District 4. She and her husband, Trey, were volunteers and petition coordinators for both petition drives and served on the committee in the effort to create the City of St. George, Louisiana for the past 14 years. Patty was appointed by Governor Landry in May of 2024 to serve on the interim council for the City of St. George.

Patty graduated from Tara High School and LSU with a BA in English. Prior to starting her family, she was the Director of Administration for Cellular One. After becoming a mother, Patty shifted her focus to community service and volunteerism, dedicating herself to the causes that matter most to her: education, youth, and local development. She is currently a substitute teacher at the LSU Lab School. Patty has served on various committees within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and is proud to have been part of the effort to have Gifted and Talented programs added at Shenandoah Elementary and Woodlawn High School. Patty is a strong believer in parental involvement in schools and knows the difference it can make to students of all ages.

Patty and her husband have lived in Shenandoah subdivision for over 23 years. They have two daughters, a son-in-law, and are proud grandparents to a  4-month-old grandson! Patty has dedicated over a decade of her life to creating the City of St. George and is continuing to work to make it a place where families want to live for generations to come.

Why I’m Running.

The journey to create the City of St. George has been a personal mission for me for the last 14 years. While we’ve made incredible progress, our work is far from over. I’m running for St. George City Council to continue the vision we started and to ensure that St. George becomes a place where families want to live.

My goal is to create a city that is safe, clean, and prosperous—a place where residents are proud to call home, and where children can grow up with access to the highest quality public education. I am committed to building a St. George that prioritizes the needs of families, supports local businesses, and ensures a vibrant future for all of us.

I’m asking for your vote on March 29 to build a future for St. George that we can all be proud of.
